Etymology

From the classical Greek transliterated as "diabainein," meaning "to pass through,", siphon, it is from the participle of this verb, and therefore means passing through.  This refers to the excessive amounts of urine produced by sufferers.

  2. Diabetes Type II The inability of the body to metabolize the human hormone insulin
  3. Diabetes Insipidus Usually a disorder of the pituitary gland, leading to a form of Type II diabetes.
