Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production and property in general.

It was a mainstream worldwide political system from the 1917 October Revolution until the fall of the German wall, both events in 1989.

Dictionary

1. The ideology of political parties that use the term 'Communist' in their names, usually Marxist and Leninist.
2. The socio-economic system based on such parties' ideologies.
3. A state of affairs perceived as oppressive, overly arbitrary, or totalitarian.
