Taille de cinq pieds deux pouces, cheveux sourcils blonds gris, front haut, et découvert, yeux bleu clair, nez moyen, bouche petite, menton rond, visage ovale et plein ; a été amené en la maison de céant, comme suspect, en vertu d’un mandat d’arrêt en datte de aujourd’huy, duement signé heussée, et Massé administrateur au département de Police de la commune de Paris, pour y être gardé jusqu’à nouvel ordre, délivré par moi, Greffier Concierge de la S. Maison, soussigné, le dix neuf des dits mois et an. Signé Vaubertrand, Père pour son fils. --Citoyen Sade au Comité de sureté générale via Northwestern University[2]

53 years old, born in Paris, man of letters, living rue de la Ferme des Mathurins, n. 871, height of five feet and two inches, blond hair and gray eyebrows, high forehead, going bald, light blue eyes, medium nose, small mouth, round chin, full, oval face; he was brought in this present jail as a suspect, on the ground of an arrest warrant dating of today, signed by Heussée and Massé, administrator in the department of Police of the city of Paris, in order to be detained there until a new order is given by myself, warden clerk of this house, the nineteenth of this month. Signed Vaubertrand, father, for his son.
