The cherry is the small fruit, usually red, black or yellow, with a smooth hard seed and a short hard stem. It is the fruit of many plants of the genus Prunus, and is a fleshy drupe (stone fruit). It is also English slang for virginity, especially female virginity as embodied by a hymen.
