Chanakya (fl. c. 4th century BCE) was an ancient Indian teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist and royal advisor. He is traditionally identified as Kauá¹ilya or Vishnugupta, who authored the ancient Indian political treatise, the Arthashastra.
