Casanova at Dux is the title of a preface written to a translation of Casanova's memoirs by Arthur Symons.

Symons significantly said that Casanova was "that rarest kind of autobiographer, one who did not live to write, but wrote because he had lived."

This last remark places Casanova on a par with seigneur de Brantôme.
