One aspect of how women are portrayed in popular culture is a purported rivalry between blondes and brunettes. The rivalry is a cultural phenomenon found in many countries that have a significant blonde population to include: Argentina, Austria, Chile, France, Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom. In the United States, evidence of a blonde vs. brunette rivalry is common in the popular media and especially in television and movies.
