- An older male sibling
- Big Brother, a character from George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four
- Authoritarianism, referred to as "Big Brother" — any omnipresent, seemingly benevolent figure representing oppressive control over individual(s) exerted by an authoritarian power (a concept from Orwell's novel above).
