Die berlin biennale ist eine seit 1998 stattfindende Ausstellung internationaler zeitgenössischer Kunst. Sie findet an wechselnden Orten in Berlin statt.
Die 2. berlin biennale dauerte vom 20. April bis zum 20. Juni 2001 und zeigte Arbeiten von 49 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus 31 Ländern. Kuratorin war Saskia Bos.
Die 3. berlin biennale fand statt vom 14. Februar bis zum 18. April 2004; Kuratorin war Ute Meta Bauer.
Kuratiert von Maurizio Cattelan, Massimiliano Gioni und Ali Subotnick zeigte die 4. berlin biennale vom 25. März bis 5. Juni 2006 Kunstwerke u. a. von Mircea Cantor, Bruce Naumann, Ján Manˇcuška und Thomas Schütte.
Die fünfte Ausgabe wird von Adam Szymczyk und Elena Filipovic kuratiert und findet im Frühjahr 2008 – vom 5. April bis zum 15. Juni – statt.
KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin is pleased to announce that Kathrin Rhomberg has been appointed curator of the 6th berlin biennial for contemporary art. The 6th berlin biennial will take place in spring 2010.
