Being and Time (German: Sein und Zeit, 1927) is German philosopher Martin Heidegger's most important work. Although written in haste, and despite the fact that Heidegger never completed the project outlined in the introduction, the book has profoundly influenced 20th-century philosophy, particularly existentialism, hermeneutics and deconstruction. It is widely considered the most influential work of continental philosophy published during the 20th century.
