Beauty ideal is a concept in which one form of beauty is raised to a standard. It is a form of aesthetic universalism.

An ideal beauty or a classical beauty is a concept which refers to males such as an Adonis and female Venuses, most importantly the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa. Today, there are exemplified by the current sex symbols.
