Barbara Mehrhof ( 1942 ) is an American writer of New York Radical Women, Redstockings and The Feminists. She is a teacher by profession. She took part in the 1969 Abortion Talks campaign. In 1976, together with Florence Rush, a social worker and feminist who pioneered research on sexual violence against children, published under the title Sexual Abuse of Children: A Feminist Perspective . She organized the Circle of Support for Jane Alpert , who as an American radical leftist was convicted of planting bombs in several government buildings. She later became one of the group’s four coordinators of Women against pornography, who demonstrated around Time Square in New York.
