"Avez-vous déjà giflé un mort?" (“Have you ever slapped a dead man?”) is the title of Louis Aragon's contribution to the 1924 pamphlet Un Cadavre. The article is also remembered for its conclusion "Certains jours j'ai rêvé d'une gomme à effacer l'immondice humaine" (There are days when I dream of an eraser to rub out human filth.).
