"Weekend" is a musical composition produced by Patrick Adams and written by James Calloway and Leroy Burgess. Lead vocals were by Christine Wiltshire, then wife of Patrick Adams.

The composition was covered in 1981 by Class Action on Sleeping Bag Records's first single (with mixes by Sergio Munzibai and John Morales and Larry Levan, and reworked for many Todd Terry tracks starting with the 1988 [1] on Fresh Records.

It added the sample "What we're gonna do right here is go back, way back, back into time," take from "Troglodyte" by the Jimmy Castor Bunch.[2]
