The Monkey Connoisseurs (1837)[1], also known as The Experts is a painting by Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps. It is a satire of the jury of the French Academy of Painting, which had rejected several of his earlier works on account of their divergence from any known standard.
The work was shown at the Salon of 1839 and at the Exposition Universelle of 1855.
It is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The work is similar to Monkeys as Judges of Art (1889) by Gabriel von Max.
