Reflections on the Seventh Art is a film essay by Ricciotto Canudo first published in 1923. The essay commented on his previous essay The Birth of the Sixth Art. It added poetry to the list of the five arts, stating that cinematography was generated from the six arts: architecture, music, painting, sculpture, poetry and dance. Combining the science with arts the seventh art unites all the other arts..
Earlier drafts of the essay had been published in Italy and France.
