Mutabaruka (b. 26th December, 1952, Rae Town, Jamaica as Allan Hope) is a Jamaican dub poet. His name comes from the Rwandan language and translates as "one who is always victorious." His 1983 release "Check It" was released on Chicago Blues label Alligator Records.
