"Memories"[1] is a song written by Hugh Hopper (Soft Machine) first recorded by Robert Wyatt as the b-side of the single "I'm a Believer" in 1974. It was later covered[2] by Bill Laswell's project Material on their 1982 album One Down, sung by Whitney Houston, one of her first recordings as featured vocalist, and Archie Shepp on tenor sax.
