Manhood: A Journey from Childhood into the Fierce Order of Virility is a book by French writer Michel Leiris, first published as L'Âge d'homme in 1939. It was translated from French by Richard Howard in 1992. Susan Sontag dedicated a chapter to it in Against Interpretation. The painting on the cover of this edition is by Northern Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach.
