Manhood: A Journey from Childhood into the Fierce Order of Virility is a book by French writer Michel Leiris, written in the early 1930s, first published as L'Âge d'homme in 1939. It was translated from French by Richard Howard in 1992. Susan Sontag dedicated a chapter to it in Against Interpretation. The painting on the cover of this edition (ISBN 0226471411) is by Northern Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach.
