Le Moyen Age fantastique : antiquités et exotismes dans l'art gothique (1955) is an art history book written by Jurgis Baltrušaitis and published by Armand Colin. Its subject matter is Gothic art of the Middle Ages that displays fantastic (or fantastique) and exotic qualities.
In this work, Baltrušaitis analysed the origins of exoticism and fantastic images in Gothic art. He found these beginnings in three different art traditions:
- the heritage of Hellenic Greek and Roman art
- Islamic civilisation
- influences from China and India
On the cover of one edition is a detail from the Apocalypse Tapestry of Angers.
