"If Men Could Menstruate" (1978) is an essay by Gloria Steinem. The essay is collected in Outrageous acts and everyday rebellions.
It was first published in the October 1978 edition of Ms.. The story imagined a world in which men menstruate instead of women. Steinem concludes that in such a world, menstruation would become a badge of honor with men comparing their relative sufferings, rather than the source of shame that it had been for women.
