Michael Wolf (* 1954 in München) is a German-born photographer best-known for his series Architecture of Density and Hongkong the front door/the back door which documents the extreme densities of Hong Kong.

Wolf wuchs in den USA auf, studierte in Berkeley und Essen. Er lebt heute in China und arbeitet als freier Fotograf, unter anderm für den Stern.

2005 erhielt er einen World Press Photo Award in der Kategorie „Contemporary Issues Stories“.

Seine Installation The Real Toy Story war schon in Hongkong, Chicago und im Hamburger Museum der Arbeit zu sehen.
