Jahsonic continues to post more great stuff than I can keep up with. It doesn't look like I can link to individual posts, but the Dingle Dangle magazine cover is a must-see, plus he's got great posts on Erika Blanc, Cinefantastique, Heavy Metal, assorted goodies from Bad Mags, and a post on the word "groovy" that warms my heart! --Curt Purcell via http://groovyageofhorror.blogspot.com/ [May 2005] Jahsonic continues to post more great stuff than I can keep up with. The Groovy Age of Horror [1] is a blog about paperbacks, fumetti, eroticism movies and comics of the 1970s horror boom, which has been a recent source of inspiration. Although mainly a retro blog the author Curt Purcell occasionaly comments on American politics from a liberal perspective.

Groovy age of horror as fictional universe In June 2006 Curt Purcell wrote:

My real ambition, a large part of what I want to achieve here, [...], is the creation of the Groovy Age of Horror(1) as a kind of escapist fantasy world, sort of like the Hammerscape(2). In a sense, I'd like the story-worlds of all these novels I review to melt into one grand, sleazy, sexy, monster-haunted, cult-ridden, distinctly 1960s-1970s world of groovy horror. And I'd like the images I post--whether paperback covers or fumetti or movie posters or screenshots--to serve as windows on that world. When you come here, I want you to feel like you're going to that place, and when you click away, I want you to feel like you've been somewhere dark, fun, and fascinating. That's the experience I'd love to evoke. --Curt via http://groovyageofhorror.blogspot.com/ [Jun 2005]
