The Beastie Boys are a musical group from the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan, who first came to international attention with their single "Cooky Puss".

They have enjoyed international critical acclaim and commercial success since their start in 1979. They are one of the longest lived hip-hop acts, whose rock-and-punk-influenced rap has had a significant impact on artists in and outside of the hip hop community. Their recordings and live performances often include MCing, funk, jazz and rock.
