Madonna Louise Ciccone (born August 16 1958), better known as Madonna, is an American dance-pop singer-songwriter, dancer, record, film producer, and actress. Her place in modern pop culture remains fixed, with her ambitious music videos, stage performances and use of political, sexual, and religious themes in her work. She is one of many artists who have borrowed from sexual minority cultures, including her appropriation of vogueing.
