"24 Track Loop" (1979) is a musical composition by English experimental rock band This Heat.
It was released on their self-titled debut album and is characterized by heavy use of tape manipulation and looping.
It is a loop on the 2" master tape combined with more traditional performance (including quite a lot of live stereo microphone in the room recordings) to create dense, eerie, electronic soundscapes.
Pitchfork included the song on their list of the "Greatest 500 Songs from Punk to the Present". NME listed it as the 35th best album of 1979.
